Eggborough Power Station Turbines

Date: January 2015

Customer: Eggborough Power

Location: Eggborough Power Station

Background

Eggborough Power Station had three £multi million turbines that were to be stored outside for a period of at least two to three years. These were currently being stored with only tarpaulin covers and were starting to rust.

1) The Task

Lake Chemicals and HITEK-nology Solutions Ltd was approached to provide a solution that would allow the turbines to be stored outside, whilst at the same time being protected from corrosion.

2) Product Used

  • VpCI 126 HP UV Shrink Film
  • VpCI 132 Foam

3) The Solution

VpCI 132 foam pads were placed around the turbines.

VpCI 126 HP UV Shrink Film was then placed around the turbines and shrunk into place using a propane powered gas gun.

This treatment has resulted in the low cost storage of these high value assets for a period of up to three years.
